Abdel Russell
Hello, my name is Abdel Russell and I am a proud member of the Northern Cheyenne Tribe located in Montana. I relocated to Alaska roughly 4 years ago seeking adventure and a chance to experience the last great frontier. I hold 2 college degrees, an associate’s degree in chemical dependency and a bachelors in archaeology. Upon receiving my college credentials, I immediately began helping Native people across the state and the US with issues that are common to all of us against an enemy that is common to all of us. Unfortunately, the struggle continues. But, in my experience working with Indigenous people across the US has never been dull. Great changes were made, and many native warriors were awakened. One of my more recent jobs included working with a 501c4 nonprofit organization helping Native communities across the state of Montana with many successful outcomes with data to back that up. I hope that my contributions to RIO can be as effective as they were working for other native organizations. I very much look forward to this opportunity.
